These Contest Rules & Regulations govern participation in the Oshawa Market Contest Program (the “Contest Program”). By participating in any contest, giveaway, or promotional campaign associated with this program, entrants agree to comply with the following rules and conditions.
The Contest Program is operated by participating local businesses in conjunction with promotional and media support partners.
1. Eligibility
1.1 Entrants must be residents of Ontario, Canada unless otherwise specified by an individual contest sponsor.
1.2 Entrants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry unless otherwise stated.
1.3 Employees, contractors, immediate family members, and household members of participating businesses, organizers, sponsors, or promotional partners may be ineligible for certain prizes at the discretion of the sponsor.
1.4 Void where prohibited by law.
2. Contest Entry
2.1 Entry into the Contest Program is free unless otherwise stated.
2.2 Participants may enter one or multiple contests where available.
2.3 Entrants must provide a valid email address and may be required to verify their email address before their entry becomes eligible.
2.4 Only one entry per person per contest may be permitted unless otherwise specified.
2.5 Automated entries, bots, scripts, or fraudulent methods of entry are prohibited.
2.6 Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant suspected of fraudulent activity, abuse, manipulation, or violation of these rules.
3. Prize Sponsors
3.1 Individual prizes are supplied directly by participating businesses (“Prize Sponsors”).
3.2 Prize Sponsors are solely responsible for:
- Providing the advertised prize
- Fulfilling prize delivery
- Honouring any warranties or representations
- Any taxes, fees, or obligations associated with their prize
3.3 Contest organizers and promotional partners are not responsible for:
- Product defects
- Service quality
- Delays in fulfillment
- Business disputes between entrants and Prize Sponsors
3.4 Prize values are approximate retail estimates provided by Prize Sponsors.
4. Prize Conditions
4.1 Prizes are non-transferable unless otherwise approved by the Prize Sponsor.
4.2 No cash substitutions will be provided unless specified.
4.3 Certain prizes may be subject to additional restrictions, blackout dates, availability limitations, geographic limitations, waivers, or sponsor-specific conditions.
4.4 Winners are responsible for any costs not explicitly included in the advertised prize.
4.5 Contest organizers reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if necessary.
5. Winner Selection
5.1 Winners will be selected by random draw unless otherwise specified.
5.2 Winners may be required to correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question in accordance with Canadian contest regulations.
5.3 Winners may be contacted by email, phone, or social media.
5.4 If a selected winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable period, declines the prize, fails to meet eligibility requirements, or fails to complete required verification, another entrant may be selected.
5.5 Organizers reserve the right to verify the identity and eligibility of all winners.
6. Marketing & Communications Consent
6.1 By entering the Contest Program, entrants consent to receiving communications related to:
- Contest administration
- Winner announcements
- Prize fulfillment
- Sponsor promotions
- Future promotional campaigns
6.2 Entrants may unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time where applicable.
6.3 Entrants acknowledge that participating businesses may receive entrant information related to their specific contest or sponsored giveaway.
7. Privacy
7.1 Personal information collected through the Contest Program may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- General location
- Marketing preferences
7.2 Information collected will be used for:
- Contest administration
- Winner selection
- Promotional communication
- Lead generation for participating businesses
- Statistical and campaign analysis
7.3 Personal information will not be sold to unrelated third parties.
7.4 Contest organizers will take reasonable steps to protect collected information but cannot guarantee complete security of electronic systems or transmissions.
8. Publicity Release
8.1 By accepting a prize, winners may consent to the use of their:
- Name
- City or municipality
- Photographs
- Videos
- Statements
for promotional purposes related to the Contest Program without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
9. Booth & Event Participation
9.1 The Oshawa Market booth and associated promotional displays are intended for lawful promotional and marketing purposes only.
9.2 Organizers reserve the right to refuse participation to businesses deemed inappropriate, misleading, offensive, illegal, or inconsistent with the goals of the promotion.
9.3 Businesses are responsible for ensuring their promotional materials comply with applicable laws and regulations.
10. Participating Business Terms
10.1 Businesses participating in the promotional program agree to provide accurate information and authorized marketing materials.
10.2 Participating businesses grant organizers permission to:
- Display logos
- Create banner advertisements
- Publish business descriptions
- Promote prizes
- Use submitted materials in online and offline marketing
10.3 Participation fees are non-refundable once campaign materials, graphics, promotional assets, or contest pages have been created.
10.4 Organizers reserve the right to remove businesses from the program for:
- Non-payment
- Misrepresentation
- Inappropriate conduct
- Failure to provide promised prizes
- Violation of applicable laws
10.5 Organizers do not guarantee any minimum:
- Sales
- Leads
- Website traffic
- Contest entries
- Revenue
- Advertising performance
10.6 Marketing performance may vary based on market conditions, public participation, and sponsor activity.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 Contest organizers, promotional partners, media partners, and participating businesses are not liable for:
- Technical failures
- Website downtime
- Lost entries
- Email delivery failures
- Internet interruptions
- Human error
- Unauthorized access
- Data loss
- Delayed or failed prize fulfillment by sponsors
11.2 By participating, entrants release organizers and participating businesses from liability relating to:
- Contest participation
- Prize use or misuse
- Injuries
- Damages
- Losses
- Claims arising from participation or prize acceptance
11.3 You agree that you will not proceed with any legal actions towards us for any reasons, and if you do you will do so in the legal courts of Ontario and if you do you will pay both sides legal fees in full.
12. Modification or Cancellation
12.1 Organizers reserve the right to:
- Modify contest rules
- Extend or shorten contest periods
- Change prizes
- Cancel contests
- Suspend operations
at any time if required due to:
- Fraud
- Technical issues
- Safety concerns
- Legal compliance
- Circumstances beyond reasonable control
13. Compliance With Laws
13.1 The Contest Program is intended to comply with applicable Ontario and Canadian promotional contest laws.
13.2 Any disputes relating to the Contest Program shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal laws.

15. Acceptance of Rules
