
Another productive day at All About Web Services! Our team has been hard at work across development, design, content management, and SEO. From launching new site features for our Durham partners to refining backend AI integrations, here is the breakdown of our progress for December 5th.
Mike: UI/UX Design & Quality Assurance
Mike focused on checking critical functionality and enhancing visual assets across the Durham network.
- Quality Assurance: Conducted a thorough check of the checkout process and payment methods for The Baker’s Table.
- Visual Design: Designed and implemented new promotional banner ads for the following sites:
- Site Updates: Created footers, added contact details, and verified mobile responsiveness for Durham Professional.
- Collaboration: Met with Kevin to plan the implementation of promotional banner ads in the “Home Page Hero Section” for all Durham-related websites.
Zara: Content Management & News Aggregation
Zara ensured our news and obituary platforms were up-to-date with the latest information.
- Obituary Updates: Checked and posted new obituaries for Durham Obituaries and Necro Canada.
- Posted: 6 obituaries (Durham), 15 (Ontario), and 7 (British Columbia).
- News Monitoring: Verified news posted by Leo and checked new task details.
- Aruba News: Monitored Google Alerts and local sources (Diario.aw) for the latest Aruba news, publishing 9 new articles.
- Maintenance: Performed the weekly site check to ensure stability.
Alex: Frontend Development & Content Optimization
Alex tackled a wide variety of tasks ranging from animation implementation to content rewrites.
- Casa Geard:
- Added animations to the Guest Guide, Gallery, and Contact pages.
- Updated the “Contact Us” page by refining button labels and removing social icons.
- Resolved footer issues on the main site.
- AAWS: Published 22 new client entries on All About Web Services.
- BFO Durham: Created several new pages including Testimonials, History, Funding, and “Bereaved Helping the Bereaved.” Set up the SureForm for testimonial submissions.
- Durham Awards: Currently rewriting the About page content and updated the footer with social icons and correct email addresses. Adjusted CTA fonts and margins for better design consistency.
Kevin: Training, Development & Audio Engineering
Kevin split his time between mentoring the team and hands-on development for legal clients.
- Team Training:
- Instructed Mike on creating long/sidebar ads using Canva and managing them via the AdSanity plugin.
- Demonstrated how to create Ad Groups, manage active/inactive ads, and insert ads into the Astra theme using Spectra blocks (shortcodes and HTML).
- Project Management: Held meetings with Elon, Milan, and Mike to review current tasks and the Kings Law project.
- Ray of Light: Processed audio files for Ray of Light, using Audacity for compression and optimization.
- King Law:
- Researched competitor sites and utilized ChatGPT to generate legal content for the development site King Law.
- Updated the contact form (verified functionality) and implemented a new “Ask a Question” form.
- Created global patterns for footers and reviews to streamline future design work.
Adam: Software Engineering
Adam continued his work on our specialized AI tools.
- AI Development: Continued backend work on the AI obituaries aggregator, specifically fixing scraping issues for specific target sites.
- Collaboration: Synced with Elon and Milan to review progress and roadblocks.
Nancy: QA, SEO & Research
Nancy focused on final checks for migration and deep-diving into SEO best practices.
- The Baker’s Table: Performed a full site review to ensure data accuracy prior to the live environment migration.
- Sandy’s Flowers: Updated email tasks in AceProject based on client feedback.
